Quality grid

The Quality Grid was developed as a MAPPING tool to conduct peer reviews.

The MAPPING partners conducted in-depth peer reviews in Denmark and Finland in order to collect data  from best practice and to identify obstacles for a successful and sustainable implementation of individual study plans.

The procedure was guided by an “observation grid” containing indicators for individualized learning. The grid is a semi-structured tool for observations and interviews. The grid was created based on knowledge of each partner country´s VET system, and their intentions concerning individual study plans.

The peer reviews were inspired by “European Peer Review Manual for initial VET”, Leonardo da Vinci project, 2007.

After conducting the observations, the grid was slightly revised and is now freely available as the Quality Grid:

Quality Grid

The grid was shown to be a helpful tool not only for conducting the observations and interviews in international peer reviews. The data collected during observations can be used in schools´ quality work to identify the needs for new initiatives.

The grid is co-created by the MAPPING partners, on the basis of knowledge about the partners´ VET systems of working with individual study plans. This knowledge was supplemented with criteria for the support of learner-centered approaches in pedagogical expertise.
